Bears Defenders Rip Eagles Predictable Offense After Win
The Philadelphia Eagles had a bad day on offense against the Bears on Black Friday, putting up just 15 points in a home loss that dropped them to 8-4 on the season. Philly managed to put up 317 yards of total offense but turned the ball over twice and couldn’t convert on third down, going just 3 for 14 on the afternoon. Most embarrassingly, the Eagles held the ball for only 20 minutes and 42 seconds of game time, about half the time the Bears had possession.
The performance only increased the scrutiny on a struggling Eagles offense. Entering Sunday’s action, Philadelphia ranked 24th in total offense and 19th in scoring offense, down from their lofty heights last season and a far cry from their expectations entering the year.
At 8-4, the Eagles still lead the NFC East, but it hasn’t always been pretty getting there. Their offense sputters at times and goes through cold stretches — entering Sunday’s action, Philadelphia led the league in three and outs. They’ve now lost back-to-back games for the second time this year.
Bears Defenders Take Shots at the Philadelphia Eagles Offense

A number of Bears defenders joined the Speakeasy sports podcast — hosted by former Eagles LeSean McCoy and Emmanuel Acho — from the visiting locker room after the win. Some of these players included All-Pro CB Jaylon Johnson and former Philadelphia S C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who made a strong impact with the Eagles in his short time there.
At one point, McCoy asked Gardner-Johnson if he did some trash talking on the field during the game.
“Nah I got too much respect for them to disrespect the players that I played with,” Gardner-Johnson responded. “But it’s more like, we disrespected them on defense though.”
“Was the [Eagles] offense too easy? Too predictable?” McCoy asked.
Gardner-Johnson didn’t say anything, but he gave a knowing look and an exaggerated wink to the camera, in true Gardner-Johnson fashion. This, of course, sent McCoy and Acho into a frenzy.
In the game, Gardner-Johnson finished with three tackles and a hit on Eagles QB Jalen Hurts on a safety blitz. He’s developed a reputation as one of the league’s premier trash talkers, but his personality can be abrasive at times and he’s bounced around the league a bit as a result.
The Philadelphia Eagles Have Some Soul Searching to Do on Offense
Against the Bears, All-Pro Philadelphia WR A.J. Brown had 10 receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns. No other Eagles receiver had 50 receiving yards or more, and All-Pro RB Saquon Barkley was held to 56 rushing yards on just 13 carries.
That’s been a consistent problem for the Eagles all season. They have a lot of talent on offense, but can’t seem to get everyone involved in the same game. They’re operating a little bit like an unbalanced basketball team, in that it’s a lot of “your turn, my turn” play right now. It’s not cohesive.
The Eagles can still accomplish all their season goals, including repeating as Super Bowl champions. But to get there, the offense needs to find their rhythm.
Julian Edelman just exposed the painful truth about Dan Campbell's Lions

After years of it feeling like it was the Detroit Lions' time to shine, 2025 has been a brutal wakeup call for this team. The Lions are 7-5, in third place in the NFC North, and if the season ended today, would not qualify for the postseason. It's a tough spot to be in, considering this team was a Super Bowl favorite before the season began.
That being said, it might not be fun but it's the timeline we're living in and Dan Campbell and the Lions only have themselves to blame. When asked about his takeaways from the NFC North's Week 13 games (three of the four teams played on either Thanksgiving or the day after), former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman did not hold back on what he thought about the Lions.
"My takeaway is that the Detroit Lions may have lost their toughness. How are you a tough football team? You can run the football, you can stop the run, you can protect the quarterback. Seven quarterback hits, three sacks on Jared Goff, seven hurries. I mean, they couldn't protect him... Jared Goff needs to have that middle of the pocket," Edelman said on FOX's pregame show before Sunday's slate of games. "And then on the other side, defensive line, zero sacks, three hurries, they just couldn't get anything on Jordan Love and Jordan Love made 'em pay."
Julian Edelman drops a harsh truth that Lions fans won’t want to hear
As difficult as this is for Lions fans to hear, Edelman isn't wrong with his critique of Campbell's crew this year. What's made this team so tough for opponents to take down in the past is what Edelman alluded to, being able to run the ball, stop the run, and protect the quarterback.
While the Lions are still a great rushing team, Edelman hit the nail on the head on the protecting the quarterback point. Well, that's lack thereof for the Lions, as Goff was sacked three times in the Thanksgiving loss to Green Bay.
In fact, Goff has been sacked 26 times in 11 games this year and when you consider that he was only sacked 31 times last regular season and only 30 times the year before that, that's telling as to how far this Lions o-line has fallen.
Unfortunately, Frank Ragnow won't be saving this team after failing his physical so Campbell needs to figure out what this team's identity is going to be and fast. Otherwise, this team is in serious danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2022 season.
