There's a surprise twist to one of the key moments in the Dolphins' 21-17 win over Saints that has one defender paying an unexpected cost
The Miami Dolphins' defense should rest easy tonight. The unit's awful start to the season appears to be fully in the rear-view mirror, and Miami, riding a three-game win streak after today's

Douglas' interception came just before halftime, a critical swing of the pendulum that took New Orleans out of scoring territory and Miami in position to steal more points before halftime. But Douglas' big play comes with a bitter aftertaste — as his teammates are hitting him where it counts for not paying off the turnover with a score of his own.
Rasul Douglas catches a fine from the most unexpected place for not scoring on his first-half interception against the Saints
"Oh, (Rasul) is definitely getting fined! It was a great play but he's definitely getting fined for not scoring on that play...within the DB room, we have a fine system, you know what I'm saying? He's definitely getting fined for that one."
— Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick on Rasul Douglas' first-half interception
Tough crowd! The Dolphins secondary has generally found interceptions hard to come by this season. Entering into Week 13, Miami had just three on the season. Fitzpatrick logged one in Week 5 against the Panthers,
Fitzpatrick joked with the media after the game that the total of Douglas' fine is "up for discussion". But Miami Herald reporter C. Isaiah Smalls had the scoop after the game.

Me: "You gotta get to the crib!"
Douglas: *sighs* "I know! I just got fined $2000 for that."November 30, 2025
It's always fun to get peeks behind the curtain like this. Douglas' contribution to the win turns out to be a costly one — and Minkah Fitzpatrick is the perfect person to serve as the jury for his peers, given that Fitzpatrick took his interception on the day back to the house.
This is all fun and games on the heels of a win. Had Miami lost and looked back longingly at those four points Miami could have had by way of a Douglas return for a score, it'd be a different story. Thankfully, that's not the world we live in.
Instead, we can marvel at an instinctive drive on the ball from Douglas to help steal points and flip the script of the close of Miami's first half effort against the Saints. Just don't expect Douglas to have any kind words for Saints offensive guard Dillon Radunz the next time he sees him. He, apparently, cost Douglas two grand! You'd like to think it's a price well worth a win nevertheless.
Raiders’ Brock Bowers Drops True Feelings on Loss to Chargers

The Las Vegas Raiders fell 31-14 to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13 on November 30 at SoFi Stadium. Nonetheless, one of the team’s bright spots remains Brock Bowers.
Bowers only had four receptions for 63 receiving yards, but he did record both touchdowns for the Silver and Black against the Chargers. Moreover, one of the end-zone receptions is
“I don’t really think out there,” Bowers said about his touchdown grab. “I just see the ball coming and do whatever I can to catch it; I feel like if I overthink, then a game’s not going to be as good… I haven’t even seen the film; I don’t know how it happened; I just react, and when the ball’s coming, I catch it.”
Furthermore, the Raiders tight end spoke about the loss, as his highlight-reel touchdown grab came in a losing effort.
“It’s not fun,” Bowers added about the Raiders losing their 10th game. “We come here to win games, obviously, and that hasn’t been the case. So, we just need to get better and keep improving.”
Raiders Lose in First Game After Firing Chip Kelly
Former Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly was fired hours after their Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. In the first game without Kelly, the Las Vegas offense improved slightly, considering they again failed to score more than 20 points.
In five of their last six games, the Silver and Black have failed to reach 20 points, which explains why they have lost six games. Bowers also spoke about how the offense looks for them under interim offensive coordinator Greg Olson.
“It felt a little different,” Bowers added. “I’m interested to see how this next week goes and the rest of the year… You can see we just need to stay away from big negative plays like penalties and sacks. When we stay on track, our offense is effective. We need to convert those third downs and keep the drive going.”
Raiders Have Another Challenging Game
The Silver and Black’s schedule doesn’t get easier, and they will need to pull off an upset if they want to snap their losing skid. Las Vegas will host the
However, their offense failed to do anything beyond scoring seven points, while their defense held Denver to 10. As a result, the Raiders will be looking for better performance from the offense while trying to repeat what they did on defense.
Although the Raiders are eliminated from playoff contention, they can play spoiler if the team is motivated enough to ruin the Broncos’ aspirations of winning the AFC West and securing the No. 1 seed in the conference.
It will be interesting to see if another week under Olson improves the offense and if they can finally crack the 20-point mark, looking like an NFL offensive unit. Nonetheless, the downward spiral could continue, with the only light for fans being a high draft pick again.
