Warriors’ Jimmy Butler Makes Big Announcement Before New Season
Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler III will be a part of the live-action trailer for “Battlefield 6,” the upcoming Electronic Arts video game.
“I put the team on my back. And a rocket on my shoulder. See the @battlefield Live Action Trailer starring me this Sunday,” Butler wrote on Instagram.
“I don’t talk trash. I take it out,” Butler says in the teaser video.
The trailer, as seen below, officially dropped on Sunday, September 28, featuring Butler, actor Zac Efron, UFC star Paddy Pimblett and country singer Morgan Wallen.
The first-person shooter will officially launch on October 10.
First Full Year With Warriors
Butler’s off-court activities have not dampened his enthusiasm for the upcoming NBA season, his first full campaign with the Warriors after he joined the franchise during the 2025 NBA trade deadline in February. Last season, the Warriors were 23-8 with Butler,
With a whole training camp and preseason, Butler believes the Warriors can continue to build their chemistry and challenge for the NBA title in 2026.
“I get to do this thing from day one,” Butler told reporters on Monday, expressing excitement about the new season, via NBC Sports Bay Area.
“Be with the guys from day one and do what we started out to do from the very beginning. I’m super hyped and I’m super excited. I got to train with my guys this summer and talk with all the guys. I see what they have been doing and how they have been working. I’m glad that I get to be here from this media day on up.”
Back to All-NBA Level?
Butler helped the Miami Heat reach two NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023, but he left the franchise on bad terms, with many questioning his commitment to winning. Much of that narrative was spun from the notion that Butler doesn’t take the regular-season seriously. During his six-year stint in Miami, Butler never reached the 65-game threshold, appearing in less than 60 games in four separate seasons.
Curry, for one, is determined to help Butler repair his image and return to an All-NBA and All-Star level with the Warriors.
“I think first it helps him just as a human being, as a player, to have something that he knows, a situation he knows based on how last year ended and how we do things, what he can help, continue to help us do at a high level, but then just have that clarity coming in where we can have the conversations that we were having in a very short span after the trade last year,” Curry said of Butler.
“And the way that we finished playing, or our record towards the end of the year, it was fun for all of us.”
Despite finishing the 2024-25 season on a high note, the Warriors are not viewed as NBA title contenders by oddsmakers. According to ESPNBet, Jimmy Butler and Co. own the 11th-shortest odds to win the championship, and the seventh-shortest odds to represent the Western Conference in the 2026 NBA Finals.
Red Sox Announce Unfortunate Liam Hendriks Update

The Boston Red Sox announced some negative injury updates on Monday.
The most pressing update for the organization in relation to the playoffs was the loss of Lucas Giolito for the Wild Card round. He's going to miss the series against the New York Yankees due to an elbow issue.
But, he wasn't the only person who got an update. On Monday, the Red Sox announced that Liam Hendriks underwent elbow surgery, as shared by MassLive.com's Chris Cotillo.
"News from the Red Sox: Liam Hendriks had elbow surgery. It was a successful right elbow ulnar nerve transposition with posterior interosseous nerve release," Cotillo said.
Hendriks has just had some brutal luck. He's a guy who was the best reliever in baseball at one point. But, he battled -- and beat -- Cancer before needing to undergo Tommy John surgery back in 2023. He missed the 2024 season and returned this year for Boston and was able to make 14 appearances. He had a 6.59 ERA and 12-to-7 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 14 appearances. Hendriks signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Red Sox before the 2024 season. He has a $12 million mutual option for the 2026 season, which doesn't seem likely to be picked up.
Tim Healey of the Boston Globe noted that this is a "common follow-up" surgery for pitchers who undergo Tommy John surgery.
"Liam Hendriks had right elbow ulnar nerve transposition surgery, the Red Sox announced," Healey said. "That is a common follow-up to Tommy John surgery, which Hendriks had in 2023."
There was a lot of optimism for Hendriks heading into the 2025 season, but things didn't work out for him. While this is the case, he did to a lot off the field. He was nominated as the Red Sox's nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award. Although he wasn't able to take the field as much as he likely hoped for Boston, he made an impact with the organization and it would be nice to have him back.
