Warriors’ Draymond Green Bashes Former NBA All-Star — ‘You Underachieved’
The Golden State Warriors haven’t necessarily been able to get off the ground yet in the 2025-26 campaign, as they have a 9-8 record through their first 17 games. Once again,
Considering how he is in his 14th NBA season, everyone is familiar with Green’s temperament at this stage of the game. So, with former NBA All-Star Kenyon Martin continuing to make critical comments regarding Green’s play early in the new season, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see that the Golden State legend has opted to respond to him.
Draymond Green Responds to Kenyon Martin
Even in his age-35 season, Green has remained an effective Swiss Army knife for the Warriors. While he’s still one of the best defenders in the league, Green’s offensive numbers have slipped again early in the new season. Through 15 games, Green is averaging 7.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game while shooting just 39.1% from the field.
And yet, Green always seems to find a way to make winning players for Golden State. He’s made a habit of that throughout his career, which has seen him earn four All-Star selections, four NBA titles, and the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Award. Simply put, there isn’t another player like Green in the NBA today.
Given all the talking he does, combined with the fact that his production is continuing to decline, Green walks around with a big target on his back. That has led to Martin, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2000 NBA Draft, consistently criticizing Green as of late. While Green has tried to avoid calling out Martin, he
“I just don’t know how you can continue to shoot at me when you underachieved,” Green said on “The Draymond Green Show.” “Like, one All-Star? … If I stop playing basketball today, my career was better, way more impactful … Your resume got to be a little better to just keep taking shots.”

Martin was a solid player throughout his career in the NBA, but Green is right in saying that he failed to meet the lofty expectations that come with being the first overall pick of any draft, regardless of the sport. Green, meanwhile, has been one of the top success stories in recent NBA memory, as he’s turned himself into a surefire Hall of Famer after falling to the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft.
This is all par for the course when it comes to the “Draymond Green experience,” and it’s something that the Warriors and their fans have gotten used to. Green will talk a lot, but he often is able to back it up with his strong play on the court. After losing their past two games, Green will look to help lead Golden State back to the win column on Friday night when the team takes on the
J.K. Dobbins, Broncos Get Unfortunate Reality Check Amid Injury

Running back J.K. Dobbins is on injured reserve with a Lisfranc injury, and the Denver Broncos hope to get the veteran back for a potential Super Bowl berth. Likewise, Dobbins hopes that his tenure with the Broncos continues after this season.
However, there is a grim reality check for both sides to face, at least regarding the latter situation.
Unfortunately for Dobbins, all he can do is wait it out.
J.K. Dobbins’ Injury Puts Broncos Future in Jeopardy

Dobbins was on track for a career year, rushing for 772 yards and 4 touchdowns on 153 carries, before suffering his injury in Week 10 against the
He signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Broncos in free agency.
Despite his strong play before the injury, Dobbins’ history suggests the Broncos would be wise to take a wait-and-see approach with his future.
“The Broncos and Dobbins are each posturing as confident he can make a full recovery and get back to playing at a high level.” The Denver Post’s Parker Gabriel wrote
“The reality, of course, is that Dobbins is a free agent after the season since he signed a one-year deal back in June. So while there’s no need to rush to any kind of prediction about Dobbins’ future, the nature of the injury and his contractual status make it at least plausible that he’s played his final snap in Denver.”
That is an unfortunate truth, but the Broncos have to take a long-term view on Dobbins.
Broncos Must Wait and See on Injured RB
The Broncos must consider the implications of Dobbins’ injury if they want to sign him to a multi-year deal, since complications could arise later on.
“Lisfranc injuries are really tough to come back from, though it depends on the exact nature of the injury, and we don’t know that precisely with Dobbins. We know it required surgery, which means there was tearing in at least one of several ligaments around that joint that needed to be repaired for Dobbins to have the structural integrity needed to get back to playing.” Gabriel wrote.
“The thing about Lisfranc injuries that’s so tough, according to Dr. Nicholas Strasser, an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon I talked to this week, is that not only can the recovery itself be tricky and long, but also that they, in some cases, lead to longer-term issues like arthritis.”
The Broncos have turned to former undrafted free agent Jaleel McLaughlin alongside RJ Harvey in their backfield committee that also includes Tyler Badie in Dobbins’ absence.
J.K. Dobbins Remains Defiant Amid Daunting Injury
Dobbins overcame previous ankle and knee injuries to perform as he had for the Broncos this season, and he suggested this time would be no different.
“For those who will count me out again… Thank you,”
He called himself “Mr. Comeback” in another post, but he faces a potentially lifelong battle.
The Broncos are 9-2 and in the driver’s seat in the AFC, which at the very least would make for less travel during the playoffs en route to a potential Super Bowl berth.
