Falcons’ Bijan Robinson Earns Major NFL Award Ahead of Week 5

In his first two seasons in the NFL, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has quickly turned himself into one of the deadliest offensive playmakers in the league. However, his standout work isn’t limited to his play on the field, as he has continually found ways to give back to the community throughout his young career.
For many professional athletes nowadays, the work you do off the field is just as important as the work you do on the field, and that is something Robinson has embraced since turning pro back in 2023. Ahead of the league’s Week 5 action, Robinson ended up earning a prestigious award that shined a light on his work off the field.
Bijan Robinson Earns NFLPA Community MVP for Week 5
After a standout collegiate career with the Texas Longhorns, the Falcons selected Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He immediately earned a starting role on offense, racking up over 1,450 total yards and eight touchdowns as a rookie. While he didn’t earn a Pro Bowl selection, he did finish fifth in a crowded Offensive Rookie of the Year race.
Robinson took a big step forward in 2024, rushing for 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also catching 61 passes for 431 yards and another score as a receiver. In 2025, Robinson has gotten off to a hot start, as he already has 340 rushing yards, 270 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in his first four games as he continues to establish himself as one of the top players in the league.
Off the field, Robinson has continued to give back to the community, and after he hosted a massive reading event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium that saw 7,700 children attend to watch the star running back read a book titled “Be You,” he ended up earning the NFLPA’s Community MVP for Week 5 of the 2025 campaign. Robinson has since launched his own “BijanReads” campaign, which he recently spoke about.
“When I learned how many students were struggling with these skills, I knew I had to use my platform to encourage change,” Robinson said. “Through BijanReads, we’re aiming to make literacy fun and accessible for every child.”

In addition to his new “BijanReads” campaign, Robinson has also worked with Change Church, which is a religious organization that operates out of Atlanta. In the wake of Robinson earning this award, the NFLPA announced that it would be making a $10,000 donation to this organization in recognition of his off-field work.
On the field, Robinson and the Falcons are enjoying a bye week in Week 5 before gearing up for 13 straight games to close out the season. Atlanta is going to need all the rest it can get because when it returns to action, it will draw a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions. With this game scheduled for Monday Night Football in Week 6, kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. on Oct. 13.
