Raiders Starter Faces Serious Consequences After Brutal Late Hit Injures Chiefs Player
The Las Vegas Raiders are in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after one of their starting players delivered a late hit that resulted in a serious injury to a Kansas City Chiefs player. The incident, which occurred late in the fourth quarter of their high-stakes matchup, has drawn immediate criticism from across the league and raised questions about player discipline and sportsmanship.
The late hit, which occurred after the Chiefs’ quarterback had already released the ball, was deemed both unnecessary and dangerous by officials. The hit knocked the Chiefs player to the ground, leaving him visibly shaken. While the player managed to finish the game, concerns over his health continue to linger.
“I understand that the game can get heated, but there’s no place for that kind of hit in football,” said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was directly impacted by the play. “It’s a dangerous play, and I'm just thankful I was able to get up. But that hit could have caused serious damage.”
The Raiders starter responsible for the hit quickly took to social media, offering an apology and accepting full responsibility. "I deeply regret my actions," the player wrote. "That hit was late, and I should have been more aware. I never intended to hurt anyone, and I will accept whatever consequences come my way."
The NFL has launched an investigation into the incident, and the player in question could be facing significant discipline, including a fine or suspension. Given the severity of the hit and the NFL’s zero-tolerance policy for dangerous plays, many are anticipating a strong response from the league.
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels addressed the situation in a press conference, making it clear that the team does not condone such actions. “We are committed to playing the game with integrity, and that kind of hit goes against everything we stand for,” McDaniels said. “We’ve already spoken with the player involved, and he understands the gravity of the situation.”
Despite the apology, the situation has cast a shadow over the Raiders’ victory. Critics are calling for the NFL to take a firm stance on the issue, noting that player safety must always come first. Former NFL player and safety, Rodney Harrison, expressed his concern: “Plays like this cannot be overlooked. If the NFL wants to protect its players, it needs to take action to prevent these kinds of hits.”
As the investigation continues, the Raiders are left to reflect on the impact of their player’s actions. The league’s response will likely serve as a benchmark for how similar incidents are handled in the future. Meanwhile, the focus remains on the injured Chiefs player, as fans and players alike hope for a speedy recovery.
Trade Idea Lands Rams 110 Touchdown Rushing Threat

The Los Angeles Rams have shown that even when they are without one of their better offensive players, they are still a dangerous threat to any defense.

In the Week 7 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London, Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense put up five passing touchdowns, winning the game, 35-7.
Davante Adams had his best game in a Rams jersey, being on the receiving end of three of those pass touchdowns, with young star wide receiver
When the 2023 Pro Bowler returns to full strength, the Rams offense will get a major boost, even after a five pass touchdown game.
One NFL writer believes Los Angeles can add to their arsenal by nabbing an elite running threat of team having an unforseen season.
Trade Pitch Lands Rams Derrick Henry

The 2025 season for the Baltimore Ravens has not gone great.
The team lost star quarterback Lamar Jackson to a hamstring injury that has kept him out of three games, with the Ravens on a 1-5 record heading into Week 8 (Baltimore’s bye was in Week 7).
With the AFC North team in bad shape, Sports Illutrated’s Brock Vierra believes the Rams should trade for running back Derrick Henry.
“There’s a somewhat famous picture of a sports car parked under the roof of a run down home. That’s Derrick Henry on the injury riddled Baltimore Ravens It’s not Henry’s nor is it the Ravens’ fault but it is what it is,” Vierra wrote.
“Henry has had fumbling problems this season but it is my opinion that a chavnge in scenery would do him well and his usage could pop Kyren Williams in the run game. His cap hits are manageable and while the blocking remains a problem on short yardage situations, nothing supplements that more than Henry coming down the pipe. If it’s the f them picks era part two, that’s the player who I would want.”
The Ravens running back has three fumbles through six games this season, with some of the fumbles coming in key situations that assist in the teams losses. If the fumbling issues continue pester “King” Henry, he could have a career high in most fumbles in a single season.
Kyren Williams is in a similar situation with not losing the ball. The $33 million running back only has two fumbles this season, but had a career high in fumble losses with five last season.
If the pair were to be in the same backfield, then the chances will become minimalized.
Will The Trade Happen?

Despite the team being 1-5 and the player having a fumbling issue, Derrick Henry is still a major part of the Baltimore Ravens offense.
In his first year with the team, he ran for 1,921 yards and logged 16 touchdowns. His rushing yards were second most in the league and was tied for the most rushing touchdowns last season.
Almost none of the blame can be placed on Henry, with most of the reason why Baltimore are off to a bad start this season is the loss of Lamar Jackson, who is the heart of the team.
Henry also signed a two-year contract extension with the Ravens before the start of the season, keeping the player through the 2027 season.
