Jakobi Meyers Stays Professional Amid Trade Request, But Raiders Could Keep Him"
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers has made it clear that he still desires a trade before the November 4 NFL deadline. Despite expressing frustration with the Raiders’ refusal to engage in contract extension talks earlier this year, Meyers remains professional about his situation, focusing on helping his team in any way he can.
“If I’m here, I’m here,” Meyers said in a recent interview. “I’ve made it clear that I want to be in a better spot, but I’m a professional. I’m going to do my job and give it my all every game, no matter what.”
Meyers, who leads the Raiders with 29 receptions for 329 yards, has expressed his desire to be in a situation where both he and his family can thrive. Despite this, the Raiders have not received any trade offers that meet their demands for the wideout. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Las Vegas would only part with Meyers if an offer too good to refuse comes through.
“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I want to be in a better place for my career and for my family,” Meyers added. “But I’m here, and I’ll continue to work, grind, and play as hard as I can until the situation changes.”
The Raiders are currently sitting at 2-5, and with Meyers’ future uncertain, the team is weighing the decision to either keep him for the rest of the season or find a deal that works. As the deadline approaches, teams like the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, and Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly interested in Meyers, but the Raiders are holding out for significant compensation.
Despite the trade request, Meyers has stayed focused on his role, and Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels has praised his commitment to the team. “Jakobi has been a true professional, and we value what he brings to the table. He’s been a steady force for us, and we’ll continue to use him in the offense as long as he’s here.”
With the trade deadline nearing, it remains to be seen whether Meyers will get his wish or if the Raiders will hold on to him for the rest of the season.
Giants Trade Idea Ships Out Former First-Round Pick for Cam Skattebo Replacement

Whenever something seems to start going right for the New York Giants, the other shoe drops.
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has been a revelation for the franchise since being inserted as the starter in Week 4, but the Giants have been losing skill position players on a semi-weekly basis.
First, it was star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who tore his ACL in the Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Most recently, rookie sensation Cam Skattebo suffered a fractured ankle in New York’s Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
With all of these losses and the trade deadline looming, the Giants must make it their No. 1 priority to surround their rookie quarterback with offensive weapons.
Otherwise, they risk negatively impacting his development, like so many other young signal callers suffer from.
Giants Trade Proposal Lands Panthers’ Chuba Hubbard
In a trade idea first proposed by Newsweek’s Max Dible, the New York Giants could ship edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux to the Carolina Panthers for running back Chuba Hubbard.
With Skattebo out for the season and potentially the start of 2026, the Giants could go out and get a starting-caliber running back by parting ways with a former first-round draft pick who may be expendable.
“With the NFL trade deadline just days away (Nov. 4), New York has an abundance of pass-rushers, and it could turn one of them into a high-profile running back to fill the void Scattebo left in the offensive backfield,” wrote Dible.
“The Carolina Panthers have gotten a surprise year out of running back Rico Dowdle, which renders Hubbard tradable, and could also use an edge-rusher after trading Burns to the Giants in 2024.”
Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy, who are filling in for the injured Skattebo, were not incredibly productive in their first extended action since the injury.
On Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers, Singletary carried the ball eight times for 43 yards while Tracy received five carries for 18 yards.
Dart was the Giants’ leading rusher with 56 yards.
Landing Hubbard, while at the cost of Thibodeaux, would provide a boost to New York’s ground game.
The Giants’ fifth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft is a solid player, but with Brian Burns, the team’s clear best pass rusher, and Abdul Carter, the No. 3 overall pick in this past year’s draft, on the roster, New York won’t be able to keep all three long-term.
With Thibodeaux due up for a contract extension, it makes sense why he’s the odd man out.
Would the Panthers Part Ways with Chuba Hubbard?
Hubbard broke out for the Carolina Panthers last season, totaling 1195 yards on 250 carries, scoring 11 total touchdowns.
But injuries have caused him to miss some time in 2025, leading to the emergence of Rico Dowdle as Carolina’s lead back.
In nine games this season and only three starts, Dowdle is third in the NFL in rushing with 735 yards, averaging 5.6 yards per carry.
With the former Dallas Cowboy exploding onto the scene, similarly to the Giants situation, Hubbard is expendable and could allow the Panthers to improve their roster in other areas.
Carolina is a bottom-five team in terms of total sacks this season, with only 14 in nine games. Adding Thibodeaux to their defensive line could remedy that.
The former Oregon Duck only has 2.5 sacks so far this season, but has been a productive edge rusher throughout his career.
In what would be a win-win trade for both sides, it’s something each team should consider with the trade deadline rapidly approaching.
