Could Jordan Binnington solve Oilers’ goaltending woes?
Just when you thought the Edmonton Oilers might be turning a corner, they show just how far they are from doing so.
The team returned to Rogers Place for the National Hockey League’s lone game
Edmonton’s play in front of Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard has been far from where it’s needed to be, but once again, neither did much to help the Oilers’ case. Skinner, who started the game, was pulled after allowing a stunning four goals on eight shots in the first period, finished with a .500 save percentage, while Pickard would allow another quadruple of goals for a still awful .818 save percentage.
When pressed by the goaltending woes after the game, Oilers players went to bat for their netminders, with answers ranging from Leon Draisaitl saying, “What are they supposed to do? They’re part of the team too and I’m sure they’d tell you themselves they can be better at times… We’re giving up Grade-A look after Grade-A look. You can’t expect a goalie to stop every single one of them.”
To Connor McDavid, saying, “I really feel like goaltending is a team thing. It’s tough for goalies to look good when the group in front of them is not playing well.”
To Darnell Nurse’s brief answer of, “Goaltending comes down to a full team game. It’s not on one guy.”
But it was this quote from Sportsnet analyst Justin Bourne that might sum it all up best during the second intermission while breaking down some of the goals the Oilers allowed.: “Look, the goaltender is in a tough spot in all of these spots, but goalies are allowed to save hard sports, too.”
The time is nigh. The Oilers need to make a goaltending swap.
Hockey insider Frank Seravalli reported Tuesday that the team was considering doing so coming out of their seven-game road trip, but decided to hold off after players reportedly went to bat for Pickard. The planned move was to bring up Connor Ingram.
Pickard would repay the Oilers with his best performance of the season in their 2-1 OT loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning after seven abysmal starts to begin the season, only to follow it up with another poor relief appearance. The narrative is well out there — Pickard is well-loved in the room, gets along with the players, and is somebody the players apparently don’t want to leave the room.
That’s good and all, but in 2023-24, Jack Campbell was given a shorter leash than Pickard has had in Edmonton this season. But Pickard shouldn’t get the brunt of it all, because it’s not like Skinner has been much better for the team this season.
A Pickard for Ingram swap might not do much of anything, but it could work out just as well as it did when Campbell was swapped for Pickard years ago.
Maybe both goaltenders need to be changed, just like what the Colorado Avalanche did a year ago when their goaltending numbers were in the league’s basement. Now, Scott Wedgewood and MacKenzie have the best combined numbers in the league.
Further on Tuesday, Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos reported in a trade board article that there could be a trade between the Oilers and St. Louis Blues centred around a swap of Skinner and Jordan Binnington. The problem with that is it’s not as if Binnington, who back stopped Canada to a Gold medal at the 4-Nations Face-Off earlier this year, is a clear cut better option than Skinner is.
Binnigton has posted some of the worst numbers of his career this season, with a 5-5-4 record, a .880 save percentage, a 3.13 goals against average and according to Evolving Hockey,
Could Binnington really be the answer with those numbers? It’s hard to say — after all, goaltenders are voodoo. But last year, Wedgewood had a .878 save percentage in five games in Nashville before arriving in Colorado, so who truly knows what could happen.
Maybe Binnington is just what the Oilers need.
Milania Giudice revealed that Joe was struggling in the Bahamas with a debt of $1.2 million and bitterly criticized Mother Teresa

Milania Giudice burst into tears as she revealed that Joe was struggling in the Bahamas with a debt of $1.2 million and bitterly criticized Mother Teresa for “forgetting the person who went to jail for her and living a life of luxury on the backs of my silence” — a bombshell moment that has sent shockwaves across the Real Housewives universe and reopened painful wounds inside one of reality
TV’s most controversial families.

In a raw and emotional livestream that aired late Tuesday night, the 18-year-old daughter of Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice broke down while addressing what she called “years of pressure to pretend everything was fine.” Speaking to nearly 40,000 viewers, Milania did not hold back — confirming for the first time that her father is facing severe financial hardship while trying to rebuild his life in the Bahamas after being deported from the United States.

“He’s drowning,” Milania said through tears. “He doesn’t have help, he doesn’t have support, and every time I bring it up, I get told to stay quiet and protect the family name. But what about my dad? What about the person who took the fall and never once blamed anyone?”

The young reality star’s statement quickly turned into a scathing indictment of her mother Teresa, who recently posted a string of photos from lavish vacations, designer events, and promotional appearances — all without ever mentioning Joe’s situation.“It’s like he never existed,” Milania said. “She acts like she built this brand alone, like she was the only one who suffered. But the truth is, my dad sat in a prison cell while she rebranded herself as a phoenix. And now he’s stuck with over a million dollars in debt and no one even asks if he’s okay.”

Multiple sources close to the family tell DailyMail+ that Joe’s financial troubles stem from unpaid legal fees, years of back taxes, and mounting interest on debts tied to past business ventures that were frozen after his deportation. One insider claims Joe has been living off sporadic construction jobs and relying on “help from sympathetic friends” to survive.

“Joe’s pride won’t let him ask for charity, especially not from Teresa,” the source said. “But it’s heartbreaking. He calls his daughters every day, pretending he’s doing fine, but behind the scenes he’s barely holding it together.”
What shocked fans most, however, was Milania’s claim that she had personally asked her mother for help — not just financially, but emotionally — and was met with “complete dismissal.”

“She told me that’s not her problem anymore,” Milania alleged. “She said she has her own life and she’s not looking back. I didn’t know how to respond to that. He’s still my father. He’s still the man who shielded her from everything.”
The livestream has reignited public debate over Teresa’s long-standing narrative of being the wronged wife and fierce mother, with critics now questioning whether the truth has been distorted for branding purposes. Has Teresa Giudice rewritten history while the man who served time continues to suffer quietly offshore?

Even longtime RHONJ viewers — many of whom had once sympathized with Teresa’s legal saga — are beginning to voice support for Milania, with hundreds of comments flooding social media calling for Teresa to address her daughter’s emotional breakdown and acknowledge Joe’s current circumstances.
“This isn’t about taking sides,” Milania said in the closing moments of her livestream. “It’s about telling the truth. I’m tired of pretending my dad’s pain doesn’t matter. I’m tired of acting like I’m okay with watching him disappear while the world applauds someone who forgot he ever existed.”

As of now, Teresa Giudice has not issued any public statement in response to Milania’s comments. But sources close to the family say tensions are “at an all-time high” — and that this may be the beginning of a full-scale fracture that’s been quietly forming for years.
Meredith ACCUSED of Being “BLACKOUT DRUNK” on the Plane, FIRES BACK Calling Britani a “SAD SPECIMEN”

After Mary‘s uplifting church service, a social event is planned in an effort to fix the fractured group. On this episode of
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, accountability and forgiveness seem to be the theme. But when Meredith’s mental health and drinking are questioned, it seems like moving on is impossible.
Britani and Meredith’s meeting can only end two ways, but first, it’s important to remember what really went down on that plane ride…
The friendships have been fractured after the wild plane episode, and so Mary is hopeful that a little aged champagne can make it all okay at her Sunday social event.
When Lisa and Meredith enter the restaurant, a snarky Angie mutters, “Your guests are here.” It’s fitting that Mary has betta fish as the centerpieces, considering they are also called fighting fish… so apropos for the situation the ladies are in now.
The tension is thick, and the silence is awkward until Mary speaks. She explains that they are all there because she considers them to be true friends. Britani, on the other hand, was formally called to be told she is NOT invited. When Britani called Mary the “least Christ-like” person, she dug her own grave. Even though Britani apologized for the comment during said phone call, she still did not make the cut to Mary’s social event.
Mary points out that if Britani can apologize, then Lisa and Meredith should be able to as well. Heather jumps in to explain that the great trip ended in such a lousy way, but Meredith points out they never even discussed what happened on the plane. How could there not be video evidence of this alleged fight?! Asking for a friend…
Meredith admits that she was reacting to Britani’s malicious actions (i.e., bringing up TikTok rumors regarding Seth’s infidelity). Lisa explains that Meredith was beyond upset. Whitney believes that Meredith was taunting Britani, but Lisa continues to protect Meredith.
According to Whitney, Meredith’s tone was loud and raucous for over two hours. However, Meredith continues to play down the situation, stating she was merely venting to a friend for maybe thirty minutes.
Meredith does not understand how these actions could make her the bad guy. According to Meredith, she slept and watched two movies, so it could not have been that long of a rant.
Angie wonders what happened at the end of this movie (a bold move questioning the plot!), and Meredith claims she cannot remember. Whitney wonders if Meredith was sleep-talking, since she heard Meredith the entire flight.
Lisa jumps in and says that Meredith has a right to lose her marbles sometimes. Meredith states that she feels bad that she hurt Britani’s feelings (not truly a heartfelt apology); however, Britani does not feel bad for hurting Meredith’s.
Heather has little sympathy for Meredith, stating, “You lost the right to cry when you guys harassed her [Britani] on the plane.” Heather calls Lisa and Meredith bullies and tells Meredith SHE is the one in the wrong.

Meredith cannot believe how judgmental Heather is behaving. Heather knows that Lisa knows she was part of the problem. Why else didn’t she go through customs with the group?! Lisa goes on to weave a tale involving global entry and Kendrick Lamar, claiming she was doing anything to avoid talking to Britani.
Mary makes it known that she is not attacking Meredith. In fact, they supported her after what Britani did on the yacht. It’s just that Meredith took it too far…
Meredith claims that she knows what she said, but Angie can’t figure out why the stories are not lining up. Mary is mostly concerned with the fact that Meredith does not remember the severity of the venting. Meredith insinuates that she knows some people talk about her, throwing
Bronwyn right under the bus.
You see, Whitney spoke to Bronwyn about Meredith’s excessive drinking the day of the infamous plane ride, and Bronwyn reported back to Meredith about what was said. Meredith reminds the group that she does not have a substance abuse problem. But now Bronwyn is annoyed that Meredith outed her. Great — more drama!
Later, we learn that Bronwyn is not a U.S. citizen. She was born in Brazil, and her parents are from the U.K. Although she has dual citizenship in both countries, she is now trying to become an American citizen so she can go to jury duty (woof!).
Lisa and Meredith meet for nails, and they discuss the “nonsense” from the lunch. Meredith is shocked by Heather’s lack of support and Whitney’s judgment of her mental health and drinking. These false rumors are damaging, and Meredith makes fun of Whitney’s “hilling.”
Lisa explains she met up with Britani. Britani’s recollection of what happened on the flight is inaccurate, according to Lisa. Lisa feels like now she is in a good space with Britani and feels bad that her feelings got hurt.
Meredith claims she will be the bigger person and move on, considering Britani is a “sad specimen.” She is now willing to sit down with her.
Whitney pulls up to Heather’s house with a U-Haul truck. Naturally, they are having a funeral for Heather’s marital mattress. It is time to start fresh, and symbolically, this mattress is all that Heather was.
Whitney and Heather head to a mattress recycling center, and on the way, Heather discusses being at war with Meredith. Whitney feels like she is Meredith’s scapegoat. Even though she is frustrated, Whitney is most worried about Meredith’s blacking out. These are all triggers for Whitney since she has dealt with addicts for years.
Britani is finally realizing the importance of reconnecting with her daughter, Olivia, now more than ever. Olivia explains that she never felt like her mother’s priority once Britani married her second husband. According to her daughter, it was like seven years of Britani neglecting her children and pouring herself into the step-kids.
This trauma is heartbreaking to hear. Britani’s daughter goes on to explain that for years, she did not feel lovable. It’s reassuring for her daughter that Britani realizes what she did was wrong.
Speaking of familial relationships, Bronwyn is desperately trying to keep her daughter and mother in her house (because she does not want to be stuck alone with Todd?). When Bronwyn learns that her daughter wants to move to Portland and her mom wants to move out, Bronwyn becomes concerned since she has never been an adult alone. Her mom actually shows some emotion when Bronwyn explains that she is feeling left behind.
Some time must’ve lapsed because Meredith is no longer in her boot. She reached out to Britani, and Britani is hopeful that Meredith will give an apology during this meetup.
Meredith starts by dancing around a clear apology, but eventually, she lands on how she tries to treat people with kindness and respect. Meredith explains she is sorry that Britani heard her talking and that she feels terrible.
Britani chooses to forgive Meredith and admits that it was shady to bring up the TikTok, as it was a trigger for Meredith. The reality is that Britani WAS trying to hurt Britani, but at the end of the day, they are willing to go forward. They choose to move on with some civility… hey, it’s a place to start.
