Station 42's Suspension In Fire Country Season 4 Is Worse Than Vince's Death
Posted October 5, 2025
Fire Country season 4’s trailer confirmed that it would be Vince, consistent with the report of Billy Burke exiting Fire Country ahead of season 4. Vince’s death is set to impact many in
Fire Country in different ways, but season 4’s trailer also introduced something bigger in the news Sharon delivered seemingly after the funeral, which can have massive repercussions.
Station 42 Being Suspended From Active Duty Is A First For Fire Country
The trailer for Fire Country season 4 packed a lot in one minute, beyond the tragic confirmation that Vince died. It teased Sharon’s heartbreak, Bode and Jake’s revamped tensions, new threatening fires right after the Zabel Ridge devastation, and even the setup for Gabriela’s departure. However, the trailer also eerily announced that
Station 42 would be suspended from active duty.
Sharon can be seen sharing the news in the aftermath of Vince’s funeral, based on everyone in the firehouse wearing their official uniforms. It’s unclear whether the suspension is a consequence of the events in
Fire Country season 3’s ending that led to Vince’s death, but it will undoubtedly mark the first time Station 42 temporarily stops serving the community.
Station 42’s suspension has an even bigger impact than Vince’s death. Between the material consequences of Edgewater’s community having one less firehouse serving them and
Fire Country’s protagonists’ jobs being potentially at risk, such a decision is doomed to impact everyone, even the characters less directly affected by Vince’s death.
Adding to that how Station 42 was always synonymous with the Leones in
Fire Country, the suspension can work as pouring salt on their wound, as the firehouse already lost its leader with Vince’s death. That his legacy in the form of the firehouse could also be affected is a threat too big and heartbreaking
for the Leones and Edgewater.
How Station 42 & Three Rock's Major Differences Can Reinvent Fire Country
Fire Country season 4’s trailer hints at its beginning feeling grim for several reasons, not just Vince’s death. Still, Station 42’s suspension joins Three Rock’s destruction in
setting up brand-new possibilities for Fire Country season 4. The two were always the cornerstone of the firefighting drama alongside the Leones, making Fire Country’s future feel promising if they overcome this low.

Golden Bachelor alum Gerry Turner is engaged to girlfriend Lana Sutton!
The couple started dating in March, and Turner previously told PEOPLE "Her level of adventure and mine are very similar"
The engagement comes 15 months after his divorce from final rose pick Teresa Nist
Turner, 74, announced his engagement to new girlfriend Lana Sutton in an Instagram post shared on Friday, Oct. 3. "We've got BIG news. The Golden Bachelor is OFF the market. I found my perfect match and she said 'YES'. I Love this woman," Turner wrote in the caption.
The post features photos of the couple spending time together by the beach as Sutton shows off her engagement ring, which features a round-cut diamond and diamond-encrusted band.
Two weeks ago, the couple shared photos of a recent trip to Toronto on Sutton's
Instagram. "Had a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls on the Canada side! Loved every moment with @goldengerryturner ! Oh Canada 🇨🇦," she wrote in the post, in which the pair posed with the waterfall behind them
In April, Turner told PEOPLE exclusively that he and Sutton have traveled somewhere new “pretty much every weekend” since they started dating in March, including to North Carolina to meet her parents.

“The first trip was to the Big 10 men's basketball tournament, and then we went to a volleyball tournament in Indianapolis area, and then we went to St. Louis,” Turner shared at the time. “We went to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game and now this trip to Charlotte — and that's all in the first 60 days! Her level of adventure and mine are very similar.”
The couple's announcement comes 15 months after Turner's divorce from ex-wife Teresa Nist, who received his final rose on
The Golden Bachelor in 2023. Turner and Nist later tied the knot in a televised ceremony in January 2024 that was officiated by franchise fan favorite Susan Noles at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, Calif.

Ashley Iaconetti's podcast, Almost Famous, Nist was asked if distance was really the reason behind her and Turner's split.
"You really can't know somebody in four weeks. I'll just say that," Nist said.

"I don't wanna say any more than that," she continued, though she did reveal that it was "not just the location thing" that prompted their divorce.
Turner lives in Indiana, while Nist lives in New Jersey. At the time of their divorce announcement, they said that they were "so dedicated" to their families that the distance became a problem.
“I feel great,” he said. “Until I have any symptoms, there's no treatment. So I go frequently for blood tests. I'm on, like, a six-month schedule now, and I feel optimistic because the doctor has said, ‘Well, when you turn 75, we're going to have to go three-month increments.’ So it's telling me that at least he expects me to live another couple of years to get to that. But the bottom line is I feel really good.”
