Star Trek Explains Captain Pike’s Insane Vulcan Hair
While Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong), Nurse Christine Chapel (Jess Bush), and Ensign Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) took on more traditional Vulcan looks, Captain Pike's Vulcanity veered into the absurd, with an even more vertical coif than his already infamous hairstyle, which fans dubbed "Pike's peak."
On his Instagram, Anson Mount (@ansonmount) shared a video explaining how Vulcan Captain Pike's ridiculous hair came to be. Mount explained that he didn't want a traditional Vulcan bowl cut for Pike, but that the Captain of the Enterprise's hair should shoot "straight up and straight back," becoming "a perfect platform."
Captain Pike & Four-And-A-Half Vulcans On Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Explained
Captain Pike, Lt. Noonien-Singh, Nurse Chapel, and Ensign Uhura were genetically altered into Vulcans to fulfill a mission, but the novelty went awry when the quartet decided to remain Vulcans. This was especially to Lieutenant Spock's (Ethan Peck) chagrin, as the four Vulcans were now a reminder than he is half-Vulcan.
Our Take On Captain Pike's Crazy Vulcan Hair
Captain Pike's Vulcan hair is symbolic of how Star Trek: Strange New Worlds pushed its Vulcan comedic romp to the extreme. However, Pike's lunacy as a Vulcan didn't stop at his hair.
Pointy-eared Chris complained about how badly humans spell to Vulcans, and Anson Mount applied his extra-loud Vulcan voice to narrate Star Trek's traditional "Space, the final frontier..." speech in Strange New Worlds' opening credits.
"Four-and-a-Half Vulcans" wasn't as warmly received as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds hoped, with a portion of the fandom upset at various aspects of the episode. However, no one can dispute Captain Pike's Vulcan hair is both ridiculous and unforgettable.
Traitors winner Gabby Windey and wife Robby Hoffman share Fire Island honeymoon pics

It's been quite a year for former Bachelorette star Gabby Windey and her wife, comedian Robby Hoffman.
The pair got married on Jan. 11 in a Las Vegas ceremony, and two months later, Windey was crowned one of the winners of The Traitors season 3. In July, Hoffman earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Randi, the hyper-efficient assistant to Jimmy (Paul W. Downs) and Kayla (Megan Stalter), on the HBO Max comedy Hacks. And last month, Windey was crowned Best New Artist at the 2025 Culture Awards hosted by the Las Culturistas podcast.

Windey became a Bachelor Nation fan favorite in 2021 when she appeared on season 26 of The Bachelor starring Clayton Echard. The following year, she and Rachel Recchia starred on season 19 of The Bachelorette, which ended with Windey getting engaged to Erich Schwer. The two announced their breakup two months after the finale, and during an appearance on The View in August 2023, Windey revealed that she was dating a woman.
On the season 3 premiere of Peacock's The Traitors, Windey poked fun at her failed engagement during a conversation with Survivor's Jeremy Collins, a fellow contestant. When Collins learned Windey was a star of The Bachelorette, he asked her how her season ended. Without missing a beat, she replied, "I'm a lesbian now."
