Report: Giants Weapon Expected to Miss Eagles Game
The New York Giants take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football and they will face the defending Super Bowl champions without a key offensive weapon.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Giants WR Darius Slayton is not expected to play against the Eagles. The veteran got hurt in Week 5 against the New Orleans Saints.
Slayton has 12 catches on the season for 166 yards. He's in his seventh season with the Giants, who are 1-4.
With Slayton out, rookie QB Jaxson Dart will be without Slayton and star WR Malik Nabers against the Eagles, who are 4-1. Nabers will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Dart, who took over for veteran Russell Wilson in Week 4, has thrown for 313 yards and three touchdowns. He threw his first two interceptions of his career against the Saints.
The Eagles lost to the Denver Broncos at home in Week 5 for their first loss of the season, so they will be highly motivated to get back in the win column against the rival Giants.
All signs point toward New York missing the playoffs again this season. 2025 is all about Dart's development and protecting him from getting hurt. The last thing the Giants need is for Dart to suffer a serious injury like Nabers.
Despite a new injury, Jordan Love shows unmatched determination by practicing for the Packers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is set to lead the offense against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, despite apparently dealing with a new injury.
Love has been listed on the injury report for every game of the Packers' 2025 season to this point.
The 2020 first-round pick underwent surgery on his left thumb during the preseason, but has not missed a practice in the regular season.
That streak continued on Wednesday, despite the Packers listing Love as having an ankle injury as well as the long-standing issue with the thumb.
Love still practiced in full and is set for a familiar quarterback matchup this week at Lambeau Field.
Love has chance for revenge over Flacco
The Packers have only lost once this season, posting a 2-1-1 record through their first four games.
As they return from their bye week, Love and the Packers have an opportunity to get revenge on the quarterback who dealt them that defeat.
Green Bay suffered a surprise 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 3, with Joe Flacco the quarterback for Cleveland.
There has since been a change for the Browns, who made Dillon Gabriel the starter and this week traded Flacco to the Bengals.
Flacco will start in place of Jake Browning, who lost all three of his starts for the Bengals following the severe turf toe injury suffered by Joe Burrow that has derailed the initially strong start made by Cincinnati.
With their loss to Cleveland coming in a defensive struggle in which Flacco was held to just 142 yards passing, the Packers should be confident of ensuring his first start for Cincinnati is a losing one. Only two teams have allowed more points than the Bengals (156) through five weeks.
Love will also be boosted by the seemingly imminent returns of left guard Aaron Banks (groin) and right tackle Zach Tom (oblique). Both practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday.
