Luka Doncic still obsesses over Kyrie Irving's most impossible skill as a Laker
Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving are still brothers despite being on different teams now, and Doncic recently gave Irving credit for one skill that will always amaze him.
Doncic appeared on "Hot Ones" on Thursday, and when asked about Irving and the craziest thing that he's ever seen him do with a basketball, he complimented his ball handling.
"The ball handling, you can't learn that," Doncic said. "He tried to teach me a little bit, but you can't do it. The things he do, you can't."
Luka Doncic will always praise Kyrie Irving's ball handling
Doncic briefly dove into how Irving does crazy things during games that no other player can do, thanks to his incredible skill, but he would also consistently pull off wild moves out of his bag in practice that no one else can do. He also noted that any time someone thinks that they have stopped Irving, he still always finds a way to get to the rim.
Irving and Doncic's brotherhood for the roughly two seasons that they played together will always be cherished by Mavericks fans, and they truly shared a bond on and off the floor that will never be forgotten. Doncic and Irving silenced the doubters that claimed they couldn't play together after a disappointing end to the 2022-23 season by making the NBA Finals in the following season, and they will always be known as a top Mavericks duo of all time, even though they didn't get to play together as much as fans would've liked.
Despite the speculation from fans that Irving knew about the Doncic trade before it went down, it's clear that the two players still share a deep respect for one another, and Irving definitely didn't play a part in his close friend being traded.
After the trade, Irving was practically the team's spokesperson on the matter, constantly taking questions about the move despite not being involved in the decision, and this made Mavericks fans appreciate him even more. He didn't have to answer the tough questions that were being thrown his way, but he handled the situation like a professional.
He still seems to have a strong relationship with Doncic to this day, as they always embrace before playing against one another, and the brief success they had together will be etched into NBA history forever.
Just like Doncic said, Irving's handle and skill will always be two things about his game that we may never see again, and Doncic will always give credit where credit is due. Irving was easily the best teammate that Doncic ever played with during his career as a Maverick, and even though their two teams may be rivals now, as Doncic is a Laker, Doncic still shares a deep appreciation for Irving's game and all of the things that he does on the floor.
Irving is a one-of-one player, as he is in conversations of being the best ball handler of all time, and Mavericks fans will be on the edge of their seats in anticipation of his potential return to the hardwood from his ACL tear at some point this season.
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders Gets Big News on Starting Chances

The Cleveland Browns look likely to make a significant change to the starting lineup this week, and multiple players will benefit to one degree or another if that happens.

In question is the job of QB1, which currently belongs to veteran Joe Flacco. However, head coach Kevin Stefanski changed his tune significantly on the position group when he spoke with reporters Monday, September 29.
Until now, Stefanski has been quick to say Flacco is the starter and has remained adamant about that decision. Such was not how he addressed the 40-year-old’s status in the team’s most recent press conference.
Scott Petrak of BrownsZone asked Stefanski directly if the team planned to keep Flacco in a starting role when it travels to London to play the Minnesota Vikings next weekend.
“I understand the question, Scott,” Stefanski said. “We have to play better as an offense. We have to coach better on offense. It’s not about one person. There are so many things that we need to do better and obviously quarterback included. But this is not about one person.”
The immediate follow-up question involved a request for clarification on whether that meant Cleveland will go with Flacco on Sunday.
“Yeah, my focus is on making sure this offense plays better,” Stefanski responded.
Stefanski’s unwillingness to confirm Flacco as the starter is a strong indicator that he may not be QB1 six days from now. And if Cleveland benches the veteran, it is almost certain that rookie
However, that also puts fellow rookie signal-caller Shedeur Sanders one injury or a couple of bad performances away from the NFL shot for which he has recently clamored.

Sanders made waves earlier this week with comments he uttered during a locker room interview about his readiness to start, and how he believes he stacks up to others who already have that opportunity.
“I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that,” Sanders said.
Sanders also broached the topic of whether Cleveland should be playing him already.
“I don’t think playing or not playing is in my hands,” Sanders replied. “Based on the situation, if things happen, if things pan out where I play, then I’ll be out there and I’ll be ready to play. I’m ready to play right now.”
Browns Insider Says Shedeur Sanders ‘Likely’ to Play During Rookie Season

Some conspiracy theories surfaced online suggesting that perhaps Sanders was trying to push his way out of Cleveland ahead of the trade deadline. An appearance by Sanders’ father,
“How in the world can somebody fault [Shedeur] for saying or thinking, ‘Why in the world would I go back up Lamar [Jackson] for 10 more years?’” Deion Sanders said
However, Cleveland has made no indication that Sanders is, or will be, on the trade block at any point in 2025. And Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reported Monday that her sources indicate the fifth-round pick is likely going to play this year.
“When the Browns hand the reins to Gabriel, Sanders may or may not be the backup depending on the timing, but he’s also likely to see some action this season,”
Thus, Stefanski’s reaction on Monday to questions about Flacco, and the educated speculation that Gabriel is about to become the starter that subsequently followed, represents a massive step for Sanders with regards to his prospects of getting on the field for the first time as a member of the NFL.
