Howie Roseman flexes about Eagles draft success story, ‘he’s playing lights out’
Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has earned the right to flex — and he’s taking full advantage.
It’s nice being a winner, isn’t it?
Roseman’s moves over the last three seasons alone — trading for wide receiver A.J. Brown, signing running back Saquon Barkley, drafting defensive tackle Jalen Carter and cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell — trump anything his contemporaries have done.
It’s an often-overlooked move that he seems to take the most pride in, though.

Eagles’ Howie Roseman flexes his selection of Jordan Mailata
Howie Roseman has no problem bragging about his selection of offensive tackle Jordan Mailata in the 2018 NFL Draft.
“Jordan — we took him and basically said for two years , we don’t care how he looks, we’re going to develop him over a three-year period and we’re never going to cut him… all of a sudden he’s playing lights out and hasn’t been off the field since,” Roseman said in his appearance on “Bussin with the Boys” on Thursday.
Subtle…
Roseman’s larger point was actually tremendous, as he argued sustained success allowed the team to make a high-risk, high-reward move that turned out to be one of its best in the last several seasons.
You can’t really argue against that, can you?

Jordan Mailata has become face of NFL’s International Player Pathway Program
Mailata never played a snap of football prior to being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2018 NFL Draft.
It’s hard to be more unproven than that.
Mailata grew up in Australia, and played professional rugby before eventually leaving his home country to pursue a career in a sport he had never played before. The NFL instituted the International Player Pathway (IPP) program — which is designed to grow the game globally — just one year prior to his selection.
Mailata is the most successful player to ever move through the program, earning All-Pro honors in 2024 to go along with his victory in Super Bowl LIX.
