Giants Receive Crucial Injury Update on Malik Nabers Ahead of 2026 Season
The New York Giants have received a crucial update regarding the recovery timeline for rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, who tore his ACL in a Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. After a delay in surgery to allow his knee to return to a "quiet" state for optimal recovery, Nabers underwent successful reconstructive surgery this week. The surgery, performed by Cowboys team physician Dr. Dan Cooper, also addressed a partially torn meniscus, adding complexity to the procedure.
“It’s been a tough road, but I’m just focused on getting back,” Nabers said in a statement after the surgery. “The medical team has been amazing, and I know this is a long road, but I’m determined to come back stronger than ever. I’ll take it one step at a time.”
Recovery is expected to take 9–12 months, which means Nabers’ return could extend beyond the start of the 2026 season. This news has sent shockwaves through the Giants’ organization, as Nabers had become a cornerstone of their offense. In his rookie season, he set an NFL rookie record with 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. Prior to his injury, he had 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns in the early part of the 2025 season, further cementing his importance to the team.
“It’s heartbreaking for Malik, and it’s tough for all of us to see him go down like this,” said Giants head coach Brian Daboll. “But Malik is a fighter, and we know he’s going to do everything he can to come back stronger. He’s been an integral part of our offense, and we’ll continue to support him every step of the way.”
The Giants are now faced with the challenge of filling the void left by Nabers, and they have already begun to address the issue by working out several free agents, including receiver Diontae Johnson. The team also claimed defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse, hoping to add depth to their roster.
“I’ve got a lot of faith in the guys we have here,” said veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard. “We know Malik’s impact on this team, but we’ve got to keep pushing forward and make sure we’re ready to step up for him. He’ll be with us in spirit, and we’ll keep working hard to bring that same energy to the field.”
While Nabers’ injury is a significant blow to the Giants, his recovery will be closely monitored as the team looks ahead to the 2026 season. The hope is that his determination and the support from his teammates will help him return to form and continue his promising career.
“I’m not giving up,” Nabers said. “This is just the beginning for me. I’ll be back, and when I do, I’m going to make it count.”
Pittsburgh Steelers sign versatile former Philadelphia Eagles player

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jack Driscoll to their practice squad, the team announced. Driscoll has played both tackle spots and can kick inside to guard. Given the Steelers’ insistence on running a jumbo set, he can also play there, having played 21 career snaps.

Driscoll was the Eagles’ fourth-round pick out of Auburn in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has started in 18 games and played in 67 games over his career. After his rookie contract expired following the 2023 season, Driscoll was let go by the Eagles and signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins.
After the Dolphins released him, he was re-signed by the Eagles and eventually joined their active roster. He has not been signed by a team since the Super Bowl, and the Steelers will be his first landing spot.
Standing at 6-foot-4, 306 pounds, Driscoll has 33-inch arms and has become a versatile player who can play all over the offensive line. Driscoll has dealt with some injuries in his career, including a season-ending knee injury in 2020.
The Steelers brought him in for added depth following the injury to starting left guard Isaac Seumalo, who is battling a pectoral strain.
