Gerry Turner Secretly Dated Fellow ‘Golden Bachelor’ Contestant After Theresa Nist

“Golden Bachelor” star Gerry Turner is back in the spotlight after castmates revealed he dated another contestant following his divorce from Theresa Nist.

On Wednesday’s episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, Nist, 72, sat down with fellow alums Kathy Swarts and Susan Noles when the topic of Turner’s alleged romance with another contestant.

‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner Dated Contestant Christina Kempton

On the podcast, Noles disclosed that Turner was romantically involved with former contestant and co-star Christina Kempton.

“Theresa, I think you know that Gerry dated Christina from our show for a while?” Noles asked. Nist, seemingly caught off guard, replied, “Now I know that.”

Swarts then added that she and Noles had also suggested Turner date Kempton. Nist claimed she had done the same, saying, “I was the one who suggested that he go out with Christina.”

The conversation revealed that Turner and Kempton had reportedly dated for about six months, a fact that surprised Nist. “What? I didn’t know that,” she said.

Christina Kempton’s Connection to Turner

Kempton, 70, is a retired purchasing manager from Sierra Madre, California. According to her show biography, she enjoys playing pickleball, horseback riding, and listening to Paul McCartney. She appeared on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor” in 2023 but was eliminated in the third week.

During the podcast, Swarts shared that Turner had even let Kempton “read part” of his upcoming memoir, “Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss and Reality TV.” Nist admitted she was eager to see what Turner might write about their time together. “I’m anxious to see what he’s gonna say in the book,” she said.

Turner, 73, originally met and fell in love with Nist while filming Season 1 of the dating competition. The two got engaged in December 2023 and married the following month. However, their marriage was short-lived—by April 2024, the couple had separated.

Eight months later, Turner revealed that he had been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. The announcement marked another major chapter in his very public personal journey.

While the timeline of his romance with Kempton remains unclear, Turner has since moved on. He has been dating a woman named Lana since March 2025.

Theresa Nist Finds Peace

Despite the surprising revelations, Nist has remained gracious and focused on her own life. She told her former co-stars that she is not actively seeking a relationship.

“There was something, but it wasn’t for me. And actually, right now, I’m not really actively looking,” she said. “If it happens, it happens. I’m very at peace with my life. I’m happier now than I’ve ever been.”
