Colin Cowherd Has Alarming Opinion Which Isn’t Good For Bills’ Future
Posted October 15, 2025
Is the Buffalo Bills Super Bowl window closing?
Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd thinks there is a great chance the Bills’ opportunity to win the Super Bowl has passed them by.
“I watch Buffalo after watching the Kansas City Chiefs over the last couple of weeks, Cowherd said on Tuesday. “Buffalo’s not competing with Kansas City. TheDetroit Lions are an excellent team up and down the field. Buffalo’s not stopping that. Turn the sound down and watch Buffalo take out Josh Allen. There are not enough weapons now.”
Cowherd raises some valid points about how the Bills are not playing nearly as well as the Chiefs have in recent weeks. Kansas City may have one more loss than Buffalo, but its offense is consistently moving the ball and scoring against teams. In contrast, the Bills have struggled to find their rhythm lately, barely managing to put up 14 points against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.
The Bills Are Starting to Lose Against Tough Teams
The Bills often rely heavily on Allen, and without him, they might only win four or five games this season. While having a standout quarterback is always a plus, he can’t do it all. Football is the ultimate team sport, and Allen can only mask so many flaws in the roster.
The Bills have been facing tougher opponents lately, and Cowherd highlights that they are starting to struggle against teams that match their skill level.
“They’re losing to good teams,” Cowherd added. “The New England Patriots are a good team. New England feels like a playoff team. The Bills lost to them at home. The Falcons might not be a playoff team. They almost had 500 yards. Michael Penix was totally comfortable. There was about a two-to-three-year window with Josh, but they still had a pretty good secondary; maybe it’s closed.”
It’s undeniable that the Bills have faced some challenges over the past two weeks. Still, their Super Bowl window will remain wide open as long as Allen continues to perform at the elite level he has been exhibiting.
Buffalo has the most significant piece to the puzzle of trying to win a Super Bowl, having an elite quarterback, and now the roster needs to do its part.
Buffalo Needs to Fix Both Sides of The Ball
The receivers need to step up and start making more impactful plays, and offensive coordinator Joe Brady should be calling for more downfield opportunities so Allen can take some shots. Most of the plays aren’t stretching the field, which allows opposing defenses to evenly spread out and limits Allen’s ability to take off and run, ultimately stifling the offense.
The Bills‘ defense must also address their struggles against the run. This season, Buffalo is averaging 156.3 rushing yards allowed per game, placing them 30th in the NFL.
If the Bills can’t improve their run defense, they won’t stand a chance at winning the Super Bowl, as other teams will be able to control the clock and keep the ball out of Allen’s hands. Buffalo will head into its bye week, and hopefully, they’ll sort out some of these issues.
