Chelsea Vaughn Reveals the Real Reason She Moved to Mexico: ‘I’m Obsessed with It’

Bachelor Nation fans got to know Chelsea Vaughn on Season 25 of “The Bachelor” and Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
She recently moved from New York City to Mexico City, and has been keeping fans updated with her life online.
Now, she’s taken to Instagram to reveal the real reason she decided to move to Mexico earlier this year.

In a new video, she shared, “I knew I wanted to go to a Spanish-speaking country, that narrowed things down. And I knew I wanted to go somewhere walkable since I’d been in New York for 10 years and don’t have a car. Neither me nor my best friend had ever been to Mexico City, which I feel sounds kind of crazy. But I’d been to plenty of other parts of Mexico and I heard amazing things, so I was just like, ‘It’s not gonna be bad. I’m gonna love it.’ And I’m obsessed with it.”
Chelsea then goes on to share more about her life in Mexico City, including how it feels like home.
“Legally, you’re allowed to stay in Mexico for up to six months,” she said. “It’s the people, it’s the language, it’s the food, it’s the vibe. Like, I just feel so at home here. And for whatever reason, I feel like it’s easier for me to make friends? To be completely real, I didn’t try to make friends in New York. Like, I never put any effort into it. But still, I have more friends here in three months than I did in New York in 10 years.”
The Bachelor Nation star continued, sharing her favorite and least favorite parts about living in Mexico City.

“I have been humbled by trying to learn Spanish. It’s definitely a little harder than I thought. I’m trying to really immerse myself so I’m taking a class that’s four hours a day every single day,” she shared. “My favorite part about living here is definitely the restaurant and food scene. It rivals New York and I do not say that lightly. My least favorite part about living here is that it rains every day. But honestly I’ve kind of gotten used to that.”
Chelsea ended the video by saying, “Do I miss New York? Not really. I think Mexico City has everything that’s great about New York and a lot less of the bad stuff. Anyway, that’s the tea.”
We are so excited for Chelsea and love seeing her so happy. We are so glad she’s having such an amazing time living in her new city!
