BREAKING: Pierre Strong Jr. Refuses to Back Down After Packers Release
The Green Bay Packers made headlines this week by releasing running back Pierre Strong Jr. in order to make room for a former Browns fourth-round pick. While roster moves are common in September, Strong’s response to the cut is what has the NFL world buzzing.
Instead of sulking or lashing out, the young running back delivered a bold message of resilience that instantly caught fire across social media.
“Getting cut doesn’t break me. It just gives me another chance to show the league who I really am,” Strong told reporters, making it clear that his story is far from over.
Strong’s words resonated not only with fans but also with fellow athletes who understand the brutal business side of the NFL. In a league where careers can pivot overnight, the ability to bounce back often separates those who fade away from those who carve out long-lasting roles.
Originally drafted by the New England Patriots, Strong was touted for his blazing speed and ability to make defenders miss in open space. After being traded to Green Bay, many believed he would carve out a rotational role behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. But when the Packers opted to shuffle their roster, Strong found himself on the outside looking in once again.
Still, his mindset suggests he’s not dwelling on the setback. If anything, he’s turning the disappointment into fuel. The quote spread quickly on X (formerly Twitter), with fans posting comments like “That’s the mentality of a future breakout star” and “Pierre Strong Jr. is going to make someone regret letting him go.”
Analysts also pointed out that Strong’s skill set remains valuable in today’s NFL. His burst and versatility as both a rusher and receiver out of the backfield make him a fit for teams in need of explosive depth. With injuries already mounting across the league, it may only be a matter of time before another franchise picks up the phone.
For Strong, the Packers’ decision doesn’t mark the end—it may be the beginning of his true opportunity. By embracing the challenge and refusing to let a cut define him, he’s showing exactly the kind of resilience that often leads to a second act in the NFL.
And if his words are any indication, Pierre Strong Jr. plans to make the most of that second act.
As one fan perfectly captured the sentiment: “Green Bay may have moved on, but Pierre Strong Jr. is about to move up.”
Falcons' latest move could have dire consequences for struggling Younghoe Koo
The Tennessee Titans went into their season opener hoping that the playmakers around Cam Ward would lead the team to a big win over the Denver Broncos.
That ended up being anything but the case, and much of the blame lands on the shoulders of former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who struggled to do the most basic part of his job description: catch the ball.
The veteran receiver left his rookie quarterback hanging out to dry with numerous ugly drops that changed the outcome of the game.
Meanwhile, the Falcons are still happy with their decision to trade the former first-round pick.
The Falcons clearly made the right decision trading Calvin Ridley when they did
Back in 2022, the Falcons were hit with terrible news that their top receiver, Calvin Ridley, would be suspended the entire season for betting on games.
The team decided to trade him before November's trade deadline, shipping him to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a couple of conditional draft picks.
The Jags ended up losing him in free agency after one season to their division rival, the Titans, who signed him to a four-year, $92-million deal.
His first season with his third team was decent, considering the awful quarterback. He caught 64 passes for 1,067 yards and four touchdowns.
However, he belly flopped with the No. 1 pick throwing him the football. He finished with four catches for 27 yards on eight targets, with a few critical drops.
Ridley's drops weren't inconsequential; you could argue the Titans would've either won the game or at least forced overtime.
One in particular came on the Titans' final drive. Cam Ward rifled a pass to him down the seam, and it bounced right off his hands, leading toward an eventual turnover on downs.
Drops are something you can trace back to his days at Alabama. It followed him to the Falcons, Jaguars, and now the Titans.
Trading him continues to look like a brilliant decision by the Falcons' front office. While he might be a good receiver, his inconsistencies keep him from being one of the NFL's elite.
